New project on impacts of Arctic climate change on Eurasia Print

       NZC will lead a new international cooperative project supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology in China. The project is entitled ‘impact of the Arctic climate change on weather and climate in Northern Hemisphere’. The project is led and co-led by Dr. Ying Zhang at NZC and Dr. Yongqi Gao from Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center/NZC. It supports the NZC to take part in the EU H2020 BlueAction project ( The aim of this international cooperative project is to quantify the impact of recent rapid warming in the Arctic on climate and weather extremes in Northern Hemisphere, in particular, over the Eurasia, to explore the atmosphere pathway of the Arctic warming influences and to enhance the predictive capacity in the Arctic and over the Northern Hemisphere.
