About NZC

Description of the Nansen-Zhu Centre:

The Nansen-Zhu International Research Centre (NZC) is a non-profit joint venture located at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAP/CAS) in Beijing, China.

Representatives from the Chinese and Norwegian authorities formally opened the NZC on 4 November 2003.

NZC has seven founders: Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IAP/CAS); the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center(NERSC), Bergen, Norway; Norwegian Research Center (NORCE), Bergen, Norway; the University of Bergen (UoB), Bergen, Norway; Peking University (PKU), Beijing, China; Nanjing University (NJU), Nanjing, China; Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST), Nanjing, China.

The overarching goal of NZC is to be an internationally acknowledged for climate research and training with emphasis on tropical and high-latitude regions, and the interactions between these regions, for past, present and future climate.
